Welcome to the Bush Pub

A rustic pub in the reeds on the Breede River at Malgas — built by hand, run with heart, and loved by the river since 1999.

The Bush Pub started the way the best places do — somewhere beautiful, with a cold drink and people who didn't want to leave. Set right on the banks of the Breede River, it's been a fixture of river life for over twenty years.

Everything here is built from what the river and bush provide: reed walls, bamboo, driftwood benches polished smooth by years of elbows, and a thatched cocktail bar that's mixed more Blue Moons and Breede Blixems than anyone's counted.

It's not fancy, and it's not trying to be. It's a deck over the water, a cocktail in hand, birds in the trees, and the kind of afternoon that turns into evening before you've noticed.

Whether you've paddled in, driven down for the day, or you're settling in for a long River weekend — you're welcome at the Bush.
